Chiropractic Services

At Rist Chiropractic we offer full a chiropractic treatment.  Dr. Rist understands that people come here in pain and always does his best to provide you with as pain free of an adjustment that he can.   If you are particular to a certain technique, Dr. Rist is trained in many different techniques to meet each patient’s needs.  Whether you prefer an adjustment by instrument such as activator or a by hand gentle adjustment or a more firm adjustment, Dr. Rist is fully capable to meet your needs.

To better serve you and to make your adjustments last longer, we often pair chiropractic adjustments in combination with massage or physical therapy modalities.  We do our best to get you out of pain quickly and teach our patients home exercises to help the problem heal faster and improve your health.

Massage Therapy Services

Neuromuscular/Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point myotherapy also known as neuromuscular therapy or sometimes massage therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm. Pressure is applied with the fingers, knuckles, and/or elbow in ten to thirty second intervals to effectively alleviate the muscle spasm. Neuromuscular therapy works by relaxing the muscle in order to release stored lactic acid and encourage blood and oxygen circulation to the muscle to avoid the production of more lactic acid. The therapeutic pressure and massage typically produces initial soreness and "good pain" in muscle tissue.

Deep Tissue Massage

A type of massage in which the fingers, thumbs and elbows are used to release chronic muscle tension, using slow, deep strokes and friction; the therapist may work perpendicularly to the length of the fibers of the superficial muscles, with the intent of massaging muscle that lies underneath.

A group of massage techniques designed to access multiple layers of muscle and fascia to improve alignment, reduce levels of resting tension, and create more efficient postural and movement patterns.

Swedish/Relaxation Massage

Swedish Massage is a manual therapy that emphasizes long strokes, kneading and friction motions to encourage proper circulation. The technique involves rubbing muscles together in the same direction as the flow of blood to the heart. Swedish massage works to improve circulation, relieve muscle tension, stretch tight ligaments and reduce emotional stress.
